DIANE KILGORE CONDON
Greenville, S.C., artist Diane Kilgore Condon (b. 1964) was selected for the 2019 701 Center for Contemporary Art South Carolina Biennial in Columbia. was born in Wisconsin, grew up in part in Florida and has lived in Greenville since 1983. She is among the South Carolina Upstate’s most prolific and respected painters. In 2015, she had solo exhibitions at the Greenville County Museum of Art and Bob Jones University. Kilgore Condon has been in group exhibitions throughout South Carolina and beyond, including at the Morris Museum of Art in Augusta, Ga., and the Burroughs & Chapin Museum in Myrtle Beach, the Sumter County Gallery of Art, the City Gallery at Waterfront Park in Charleston and the Pickens County Museum of Art and History, all in South Carolina. In 1988, Kilgore Condon received a BFA from BJU, where she studied with Carl Blair. With her husband, she is the owner of the building where Greenville’s Artbomb Studios are located. Artbomb, established in 2001 in West Greenville, launched what is now Greenville’s most important arts district. The current exhibition is Kilgore Condon’s third at if ART Gallery, which she joined in 2012.
